Intelligent UI Desk: save ChatGPT UI
A Chrome extension to save supported Intelligent UI from ChatGPT. Use tools in the side panel, keep progress, and sync your library.
Set up Intelligent UI Desk
Use Intelligent UI Desk with a supported desktop browser and a ChatGPT conversation containing UI. Open Intelligent UI Desk in the Chrome Web Store. Choose Add to Chrome. Review the permissions and confirm Add extension. Open the Chrome extensions menu and pin Intelligent UI Desk to the toolbar. A missing Save control can mean that the page needs a reload or that the response does not contain supported UI. Read any notice shown beside the interface before saving it.
Installation
Chrome 116+.
- Open Intelligent UI Desk in the Chrome Web Store.
- Choose Add to Chrome. Review the permissions and confirm Add extension.
- Open the Chrome extensions menu and pin Intelligent UI Desk to the toolbar.
- Open a ChatGPT chat. Use Save beside a supported UI. Chats without a Save control need a reload. The side panel saves supported UI from messages loaded in this chat. Limit: 24 items per save. Use Save beside other UI.
- Open the Intelligent UI Desk toolbar icon to use the side panel. Select a saved tool. Choose Copy to clipboard and paste the text into ChatGPT to request a review.
Move from a local build
Export a backup from the old extension. Keep the old extension until you have installed the store version, imported the backup, and checked your items and progress. Encrypted backup export and import require sign-in and internet access.
How to save ChatGPT UI
To save ChatGPT UI, open the chat where the interface appears and wait for the response to finish. Choose Save beside the supported UI. For a group of interfaces in the loaded chat, use Save loaded UI from this chat in the side panel; a save has a limit of 24 items. It preserves labels, results, notices, and warnings that belong to that UI. The reply surrounding the interface is not a saved UI. Unloaded messages are outside the capture range. Save retains the initial state, so do not treat values entered in the chat as captured progress.
Open your ChatGPT UI library
Click the Intelligent UI Desk toolbar icon to open the side panel, then select the saved item you want to use. Operate the controls in the saved interface and let progress save before leaving a task. A preview can scale a wide interface to fit the panel while retaining its layout. Open the UI when you need its captured size; items created before viewport recording have no promised original dimensions. If a control needs a network request or a new ChatGPT response, the saved copy can show an unavailable action. Use the original chat for a ChatGPT follow-up. The side panel does not send that message on your behalf.
Manage saved UI and versions
In Intelligent UI Desk, search for a title or tag to find a saved UI. Edit the name and tags when the task needs a clearer label. Pin a tool for access from the pinned group. Use the version selector to choose among an item's versions. Verify which version is active before editing values or resetting progress. Reset uses that version's initial state; it does not fetch the current state of the source chat. Duplicate creates a separate item with its versions and progress. Use a duplicate when two tasks need different values, and give each copy a name that makes the difference clear in your ChatGPT UI library.
Accounts and cloud storage
Your account syncs UI and progress between the extension and website. Offline edits stay in this browser. Recovery keeps saved versions.
Connect the extension and website
Sign in to the same Intelligent UI Desk account in the browser you want to connect. Cloud use requires a valid session and a registered browser. Check the account and sync status before expecting a change on another browser. Choose which items belong in cloud sync within the plan's allowance. Free has five selected items, 50 MB, and two browsers; Pro has unlimited cloud items and storage for five browsers. Pro costs US$5 per month or US$30 per year. A limit can pause new cloud writes while leaving reading, export, and local use available. Cancellation keeps Pro through its paid period. When that period ends, Free limits apply, and content remains available under those reading and local-use rules.
Work offline and handle sync changes
Local saving and supported UI use do not require sign-in or an internet connection. Keep using the browser that holds your local library when the service is unavailable. An offline change is not evidence that another browser has received it. Reconnect and check sync status before switching devices for the same task. If local and cloud progress conflict, retain the copies and inspect them before choosing the version to continue with. Signing out does not turn one account's cloud library into another account's library. A new account has its own cloud data. Browser-profile storage and cloud storage are separate, so clearing one does not mean that the other has been erased.
Recovery
Import validates the file and preserves existing work. Conflicts create a copy. A duplicate full-backup import preserves the existing copy.
Export and restore an encrypted backup
Before removing Intelligent UI Desk or changing browser profiles, export a library backup. New encrypted backup export and restore require internet access and the account that owns the backup key. Restore does not need a separate file password. Keep the file and retain access to that account. To restore, sign in, choose Import, and select the file. Import checks the contents before changing the library, retains existing work, and preserves conflicting content as a copy. A repeated full-backup import preserves the existing copy. Older plain-text backups remain supported. Account access, the service, and the file key must be available for encrypted restore; possession of the encrypted file alone is not enough.
Copy saved UI for a ChatGPT review
Choose the item and version in Intelligent UI Desk, then use Copy to clipboard. The review text contains that UI's source, data, initial values, and saved progress. Paste it into ChatGPT and describe the change you want. Check the text for private information before sending it. The clipboard action does not contact ChatGPT or grant the saved code access to your account. If you save a revised interface from the chat, inspect its initial state and supported actions before using it for the task. Deleting a library item cannot remove a message you sent to ChatGPT or a file you exported. Use the controls of those services to manage those copies.
Deleted items
Deletion removes the UI and its progress. This cannot be undone.
